THE KWD PROCESS
How does it work?
KWD specialises in the specification, sourcing, and supplying of hard finishes. These hard finishes include, but are not necessarily limited to tiles, natural stone, timber flooring, carpet, joinery, stone masonry, bench tops tap ware, paving, bath ware, fireplaces, wallpaper, paint colours, landscaping stone and pool tiles.
KWD is flexible with how we work with clients. Our ultimate goal is to supply material to all of our projects, whilst ensuring they end up looking amazing. We are very conscious of the outcome goals of each and every project, and can work with a variety of budgets, styles and timeframes.
Our process in more detail:
1. TELEPHONE BRIEF
The goal of this briefing is to flesh out the scope of works for your project. We’ll discuss the best way to work together to achieve your goals – it could be a full design specification brief for a whole property, a redesign for a specific room, supply of product or a design response for furniture and soft furnishings. Depending on the scope of work, we’ll present a project proposal and consultation fee.
2. PROJECT BRIEF
Whether on site, in the KWD HQ, or via skype, our project brief is considered the most important stage of the KWD process. During this brief we work through your project, from start to finish. We discuss your personal design style, your budget, your timeline, and of course, your inspiration. It is this information that leads us to making educated decisions about which materials to specify for each component of your project, and which additional professionals we need to engage to help bring your dreams to reality.
3. PRESENTATION BRIEF AND SPECIFICATION SCHEDULE
This is where the magic happens. We take all of your information from your project brief and go to market, sourcing appropriate materials for your project. We consider many elements when specifying - budgets, timelines, style direction, functionality, lifestyle - and factors such as geographical location, median house prices in your area and how long you plan on living in the property. We’ll present our ideas and concepts and talk through the product ideas and why we believe they are the best solutions for you. Once we have agreement on finishes presented, our team will produce a specification document detailing all materials.
4. SOURCE AND SUPPLY
Once we have confirmed quantities for your project, KWD’s procurement team quote your project for all materials that KWD can supply. This is when we also support the engagement of additional trades if necessary. KWD handle the warehousing and freight functions of all materials ordered. You won’t have to worry about a thing, because we’ll be managing the process for you.
The KWD goal is to complete your project in full, on time and on budget.
